We have four codified yoga and creative arts curricula
Yoga and art were chosen as therapeutic tools because of the increased responsiveness of women and girls to these interventions.
1. Yoga and Creative Arts Curriculum AYP’s first curriculum and based on yoga’s “eight limbs”, it honors the rich tradition of yoga while maintaining secularity. The YCAC offers a seasonal, academic approach with a panoply of both individual and group art and writing activities.
2. Wise Inside The Wise Inside curriculum combines gender-responsive best practices with trauma-sensitive yoga, developmental assets for healthy adolescent maturation and contemporary neuroscience research on developmental trauma.
3. Girls Empowered through Money Mindfulness An AYP Financial Literacy Curriculum intended to mitigate the lack of financial education available for youth today, particularly for young girls in marginalized communities.
4. Aftercare Creative Arts Catalog A listing of innovative, themed expressive art experiences geared for teen girls in the juvenile justice system who are transitioning out of custody into the community. The ACAC is essentially a handbook of creative art ideas that girls, AYP staff and treatment facility partners can peruse together to plan activities for upcoming sessions.
